Coed wedding shower games, sorted by couple trivia
Which couples shower games need the partners' facts, which need none, and how to mix both when friends from each side are in the room.

Split the list before you print anything. A coed shower, sometimes called a Jack and Jill, puts both partners in the room with friends who may have just met them. Some games need the couple's facts. Some need none. Play at least one from each column so a guest who met the couple last month is not stuck watching.
WeddingWire's etiquette note says you can request a joint shower where both of you are present, and the invite should state that it is a couple's shower rather than a bridal shower, so guests know what to expect. The same page says the planner should have help from the partner's side, because the guest list is larger. Jollychef recommends choosing 2 to 4 games. A coed room does not get a longer program. It gets a clearer sort.
Games that need the couple
Over or under. WeddingWire describes a card where guests guess whether a fact about the pair is right, or whether a stated number is too low or too high. Someone has to supply the true figures before the party. Guests who do not know the couple are guessing blind. That is fine as one round. It is a poor choice as the only round.
Who knows the couple. WeddingWire's version has guests answer questions about the pair, and the person with the most correct answers wins. Confirm the key with both partners. Prompts sorted by who can know them are on bridal shower questions for the bride. In a coed room, add a matching block the partner confirms, or the prize drifts to the side that has known one person longer.
Shoe game or a newlywed round. The Knot says this reception game can also be played at a couple's wedding shower, with 15 or 20 who-questions. The couple answers without seeing each other, or you play a recording. Guests can guess along on a blank card. They do not have to. Jollychef names the newlywed round and he-said-she-said as the games that bring the partner in.
Where were we. WeddingWire numbers photos from the relationship and has guests guess the place. It needs a stack of real photos and a key. Travel-heavy couples make this easy. A couple with three photos from the same apartment does not.
Games that need none of their facts
A jar guess. WeddingWire places a jar of candies or other small objects near the entrance and gives the win to the closest guess that is not over the count, Price is Right style. No couple facts. Late arrivals can still play if the jar stays by the door.
Gift bingo. WeddingWire has guests write the gifts they think the couple will open, then mark matches as gifts are opened. This needs gifts in the room, not trivia. If the couple asked to leave gifts closed, use a called-word card instead. Rules for both sit on the later bingo guide; the short version is in bridal shower games.
Price guess. WeddingWire's price round asks guests to guess the cost of common household items. It is general knowledge. The questions are about store prices, not about who cooks.
Ring hunt. WeddingWire hides pictures of rings, or plastic rings, around the venue. The first guest to find the full set wins. It gets people standing, which helps two friend groups mix. Tell the venue before you hide anything in a rented room.
Wedding traditions. WeddingWire's traditions card asks how customs started. It is a history quiz, not a quiz about this couple. Read the answers so the room learns something even if one table sweeps it.
Find the guest. WeddingWire uses this when many people are meeting for the first time. Guests mingle to find someone who matches each line on a sheet. The first full sheet wins. This is the mixer. Run it before a seated trivia round, or the two sides never speak.
Mad libs on the how-we-met story. WeddingWire has guests pair up and fill a mad-lib framed on the couple's meeting. The blanks are jokes around their meeting, and a wrong fact is still a finished card. Skip it if the couple wants that story told straight.
A movie-quote match or a character-match, also on WeddingWire's list, belongs in this column too. Fans of the films can play. Knowledge of the couple is irrelevant.
How to mix the hour
Open with find-the-guest or the ring hunt, while coats are still coming off. Seat people for one couple-facts round, either over-or-under or the who-knows card, not both, unless the group is small and asked for it. If gifts are opened, gift bingo replaces a second trivia round. The shoe game is the closer, because it needs the couple's attention and a quiet room.
Jollychef points a shy group toward a card they can fill at their own pace. In a coed room that often means the jar, the price guess, or the mad-lib, rather than a stand-up newlywed round. Prizes for whichever rounds have a winner are in prizes for bridal shower games.
A published menu cannot tell you which side of the family will freeze if asked to perform. If the first couple-facts question gets silence, stop and move to the hunt. The meal is still the point of the invitation.
One Saturday with both sides (illustrative)
Invented for a backyard shower. Twenty-two guests, both partners present, gifts opened after cake. Door: a candy jar, no printing beyond a guess slip. First seated half-hour: find-the-guest, so the two friend groups have to talk. Then one over-or-under card, eight facts the couple confirmed the night before. Gift bingo during opening, blank cards only. The shoe game is cut because an uncle asked not to be in a performance. Four small prizes cover the jar, the mixer, the over-or-under winner, and bingo, plus one spare in case the over-or-under ends in a tie.
Cards for one round in each column
The Bridal Shower Games download includes Bridal shower bingo's 30 distinct boards and 40 calling words, and a player card of 184 × 125 mm in both one-up and two-up layouts. Bridal shower bingo hosts a word-call bingo round or separate observed-gift prediction game, so guests can mark cards while gifts are opened. Know the bride game, in the same download, is a bride-confirmed social quiz with fair common scoring, ties and corrections. No universal group-size or enjoyment guarantee applies to Bridal shower bingo.
Questions and answers
Are coed bridal showers a thing?

Mix one game that needs the couple's facts with one that any guest can play, such as a hunt or a price guess.
